THE TOOLS NECESSARY FOR SUCCESS
MOST RECOMMENDED
Welcome to the Pass The ARE 5 Resources section, a specified list of all the tools and websites that I highly recommend for making the most out of your time studying. Everything on this page has been personally used in my studying over the past couple of months and I am only sharing what I have used. They are crucial to your success in passing these exams. If you find any of this information helpful to you, I ask that you please share it with someone who might find this information useful as well.
Ballast PPI
The basis of my studies and the eBooks. Why? Because it contains all of the exams in one book. Having several books to read can be overwhelming. Plus, one book means you spend less on having to buy several books. I also purchased the practice exam and flashcards too. The practice exam book is a tool I used a week or two before the exam to get me into “exam mode”. The best part of that book is that the answers are thoroughly answered. They address the right and wrong question. The flashcards were best used on my lunch breaks at work. I was able to quickly go through the material and review.

A professional organization of Architects. The organization was made by Architects to protect Architects. They provide education and support to the profession. This is where you obtain the AIA contracts that are used in the exam. The website offers samples of each contract along with commentary explaining the meaning behind each contract provision.
NCARB and their Community
The exam distributors. They maintain the records of Architects and help ensure the safe practice of the profession. NCARB also provides a community forum, where you can see and discuss with fellow test takers. Just remember the exam policy when discussing topics on the forums.
Quizlet
Quizlet is an awesome, quick way to study. SImilar to the Ballast Flashcards, Quizlet is an applciation that allows you to make flash cards and test yourself on the information. You can also see other people’s flashcards and test yourself using their cards. You can download their app on your smartphone and take your study material wherever you go.
